Stellar Films Group Starts New Venture for Sustainable Release Liners in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Stellar Films Group announced the start up of its new silicone release and coating business to be known as Akronn Industries. Akronns purpose built facility situated in Nilai, just outside Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, houses the widest production line in Asia and will produce the worlds first sustainable release liners.

The plant features solvent-free products, paper and film substrates, multi-color printing and narrow coil slitting capabilities, offering customers a diverse mix of paper and film based release products, available globally. "This new facility is a continuation of Stellars commitment to supporting our customers with cutting edge technology and products", said Stephen Walters, CEO of Stellar Films Group. "Our customers needs are our top priority. Our customers have been demanding a new product line and a R&D effort that is dedicated to working with them to achieve their goals".

The Akronn business compliments Stellars quality cast embossed film range and offers many existing, and new customers, the opportunity to work together on an innovative new range of products. The new business will also provide customers with a diverse portfolio of release liners that can be used in numerous global markets, such as hygiene, graphic arts, tapes, and other industrial applications.
